Youth Accounts

Growing up means learning all sorts of important lessons. Near the top of the list is figuring out how to handle money responsibly.

Something special for every age group

In the blink of an eye, young people go from pocketing birthday cash to working weekend jobs to paying college costs. At Foothill Credit Union, we've designed accounts to help them through every phase of their financial journey to adulthood.

Where do young children get cash? From birthday gifts, weekly allowance, and maybe even the Tooth Fairy. What do they do with this money? At Foothill Credit Union, we hope they put some of it in a special account that rewards saving.

Between academics, extracurriculars, social media and whatever is moving the pop culture needle these days, savings might not be on top of your teen's to-do list. For parents, there's always a balancing act between giving teens more freedom and keeping close tabs on their activities. At Foothill Credit Union, we want to help young people spread their wings - but parents have a large say in what that means financially.

  • Choose daily ATM withdrawal limits and daily debit card purchase maximums for your teen's account
  • Monitor their spending by easily arranging to view their account activity through your own Online Banking
  • Set up eAlerts so that you receive either emails or text messages when purchases are made, when the account balance reaches a certain point, or when there are other important account activities
