Consumer Loan Officer

Foothill Credit Union is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Consumer Loan Officer.  We want individuals who pitch in and help others without being asked and want team members who are committed to the success of the team and organization. 

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Reviews consumer loan applications, credit reports and other documentation to determine credit worthiness of applicant
  • Approves and denies loan requests based on established guidelines
  • Assists in achieving established team and individual goals
  • Actively support organizational goals and promotions

Education/Experience:

  • College degree or equivalent combined education and experience
  • Minimum four years loan officer experience analyzing and approving loan applications
  • Credit union or banking experience a plus
  • Complete understanding of the banking regulations and statutes (Reg B, Reg Z, ECOA, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Bank Secrecy Act, The Right to Financial Privacy)
  • Aptitude for detail a must
  • Ability to apply strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative, a commitment to continuous learning, and the ability to adapt to changing demands and requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain high work quality

This position may require National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the SAFE Act of 2008. As such, upon active employment with Foothill Credit Union, you will be required to either register on NMLS, or to update your existing registration as necessary to grant access to and reflect your employment with Foothill. Your continued employment in this position with Foothill is contingent upon compliance with the SAFE Act, including successful registration immediately after your start date, and timely completion of annual renewal and required updates thereafter.

Member Services Representative (Teller), Arcadia Branch - 2 Part-time positions available

Required Qualifications:

  • Min 6 months experience within a credit union or banking environment
  • Minimum 6 months of handling high-volumes of cash
  • Experience and understanding of the Check Processing Payment process
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain high work quality
  • High degree of accuracy in handling cash and checks
  • Must enjoy working with the public and building service relationships
  • Bilingual –Spanish preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Assist credit union members with a variety of monetary transactions including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments and provide general information on our services, while maintaining a positive, friendly environment
  • Promote all credit union services and cross-sell a range of financial products such as checking accounts, CDs, loans, IRA’s
  • Ensure that appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared
  • Maintain and update member account information on computer system
  • Actively support organizational goals and promotions

Member Services Consultant – Phone Center, Covina Branch (part-time)

If you are enthusiastic, energetic and have experience working in a credit union or banking call center environment, this is the job for you.  

This position is responsible for providing a variety of service functions via the telephone relating to savings, checking, loans, account maintenance and membership.  You will provide our members with account counseling and education along with initiating resolutions for member issues including servicing and promoting credit union products and services and processing member transactions.  Qualified candidates must have outstanding customer service skills, communication skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Respond to member inquires and requests on account information, ATM/Debit card issues, statements, copies of checks, stop payments, quote rates and payoff on loans, wire transfers and Home Banking
  • Process and fund consumer loans
  • Accurately and professionally open share, checking, certificates, IRA’s and other depository service accounts
  • Actively support organizational goals and promotions

Education/Experience:

  • At least one year call center experience within a credit union or banking environment required 
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus
  • Must enjoy working with the public and building service relationships
  • Ability to read and understand credit reports and account records
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workflow
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and maintain high work quality
