Participation Loan Officer

This person will play a vital role in providing optimal service to Foothill and its members at all times, including managing and growing the participation loan portfolio, achieving organizational goals and objectives and making recommendations concerning policies, procedures and services.   
 
Duties (not limited to):

  • Manages lead lender relationships and seeks out new lead lenders to diversify concentration risk which includes vendor due diligence
  • Manage and grow a diversified participation portfolio
  • Point person to facilitate communications and document exchange between lead lenders and independent underwriter
  • Perform pre-funding due diligence, risk grading, initial write-up and follow up on pre-funding conditions
  • Present participation loan opportunities to the Member Business Loan (MBL) committee
  • Provide input into annual goals and ensure annual participation loan growth targets are met
  • Assemble and distribute monthly packet for monthly participation/MBL Committee meeting
  • Responsible for performing on-going due diligence on participation loans, maintain updated financials, insurance, property tax payment and lead lender’s site visit
  • Coordinate annual risk monitoring on all participation loans and other member business loans in our portfolio
  • Perform annual due diligence on lead lenders – review updated policies and financials
  • Perform quarterly charge-off and yield calculation for all auto participation pools
  • Identify and participate in business development/networking activities around participations
  • Ensure that all participation and member business loan files are accurate, up to date and reviewed annually
  • Key point person for all audit and examinations regarding the participation loan portfolio and remaining member business loans in our portfolio
  • Prepare and maintain updated reports on entire participation/member business loan portfolio and present to the MBL Committee monthly
  • Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements issued by the NCUA and that the participation portfolio is in line with internal policy limits
  • May perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combined education and work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of similar related experience  
  • Ability to develop and implement lending procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, maintain and analyze operational statistics
  • Above-average interpersonal skills; ability to communicate verbally with a wide range of people
  • Strong analytical, consulting, and negotiating skills
  • Strong written and verbal communications
  • Understanding of related regulations and statutes
  • Responsiveness, judgement, maturity, integrity, and time management skills are required

Financial Analyst

Foothill Credit Union is currently seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Financial Analyst to join our team.  This position is responsible for completing a wide range of financial analyses including preparing monthly variance analysis, cash flow forecasting,  investment summary, quarterly concentration analysis on loans, investments and liquidity position,  assisting in preparing the annual budget and using ROI to quantify marketing campaigns and other projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and reviews monthly budget variance analysis, investment summary and investment activity reports
  • Prepares and reviews all Asset Liability reporting
  • Prepares quarterly concentration risk analysis on loan, investment and liquidity position
  • Assists with preparing the annual budget projections; works with department executives to collect budget data
  • Effective and efficient performance of financial recordkeeping
  • Ensuring professional relations with all clients, trade professionals, and external contacts
  • Provides ad hoc financial analyses for Senior Management
  • Ensures professional business relations exist between all departments and other external professional contacts

Requirements:

  • Ability to proactively research issues, suggest improvements and formulate new analysis
  • Ability to work autonomously, as a team member, and in a cross-functional capacity with other departments to accomplish responsibilities
  • Ability to identify problems, analyze relevant data, think critically and strategically, generate alternatives, and select solutions to problems
  • Strong technical and analytical competency
  • Ability to organize, coordinate and direct projects
  • Solid oral and written communication skills required
  • Ability to use all related hardware and software applications including spreadsheets
  • Good people skills, friendly and helpful attitude

Experience and Education:

  • Four-year college degree in finance, accounting, business or a related field preferred
  • Five or more years of experience in financial analysis, reporting and budgeting
  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred
