Accounting Manager

Foothill Credit Union is currently seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Accounting Manager to join our team.  This position is responsible for planning and directing the financial activities of the organization.  Develops and maintains the accounting systems, controls and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting.  Responsible for accounting department team members and daily operational functioning of the Accounting Department. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the general ledger and production of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). 
  • Trains, motivates, disciplines, conducts performance coaching meetings and develops subordinates
  • Establishes goals and objectives, measures progress and implements improvements and innovations to improve competitiveness and continuously improve efficiency and optimize use of resources 
  • Evaluates the adequacy of reserve accounts, allocations and depreciation schedules, and ensures adequate funding of same
  • Performs financial analysis of operations, budget comparisons, variance analyses, and assistance for any special analysis or project  
  • Prepares various monthly management reports for review. Coordinates the preparation of the quarterly Call Report (5300)
  • As necessary, attends and actively participates in staff meetings, management meetings, and strategic planning sessions on an as needed basis
  • Coordinates audit activities with regulatory examiners and external auditors
  • Assists management in creating and implementing internal controls
  • Maintains general and subsidiary ledgers and insures accounts are properly analyzed reconciled in a timely manner.  Investigates and resolves discrepancies.  Ensures that payroll entry is prepared timely
  • Monitors the accounting of FFCU’s investment portfolio to ensure appropriate recording of investment acquisition, amortization of premiums and accretion of discounts; reconciles and maintains proper classification of the contents of the investment portfolio
  • Assists the CFO with the annual budget process including the development of capital expenditure, income and expenses, and economic projections supporting the budget.  Monitors expenditures against budget, and develops and maintains appropriate reporting systems

Consumer Loan Officer

Call Center Representative 

Foothill Credit Union is looking for an individual dedicated to providing our members with the highest quality service that exceed their expectations each and every time.

This position is responsible for providing a variety of service functions via the telephone relating to savings, checking, loans, account maintenance and membership. You will provide our members with account counseling and education along with initiating resolutions for member issues including servicing and promoting credit union products and services and processing member transactions. Qualified candidates must have outstanding customer service skills, communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Respond to member inquires and requests on account information, ATM/Debit card issues, statements, copies of checks, stop payments, quote rates and payoff on loans, wire transfers and Home Banking
  • Quotes payoff's on loans and provides general loan information
  • Accurately and professionally open share, checking, certificates, IRA’s and other depository service accounts
  • Actively support organizational goals and promotions

Experience:

  • Min 1 year call center experience within a credit union or banking environment
  • Bilingual Spanish a plus
  • Must enjoy working with the public and building service relationships

Learning and Development Specialist

Foothill Credit Union is looking for an experienced and motivated Learning and Development Specialist to join our team. This position serves as a resource for continuous improvement within the credit union by assessing staff training needs and planning, developing, coordinating, and conducting training and development programs for team members at all levels of the organization that support our strategic direction. Evaluates training effectiveness and measures training impact.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess team member training needs through surveys, team member interviews and consultations with managers or other instructors. Communicates and coordinates with subject matter experts to assess, design and modify training as needed.
  • Evaluates and assists in designing and creating training manuals, online learning modules and course materials.
  • Review training materials from a variety of vendors and choose appropriate materials.
  • Deliver training to team members using a variety of instructional techniques, utilizing individual training, group instruction and workshops.
  • Monitor and evaluate training programs to ensure they are current and effective.
  • Assists in selecting and assigning instructors or vendors to conduct training.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as monitoring costs, scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment and coordinating enrollment.
  • Recommend new courses and programs that will support the credit unions goals and objectives.
  • Supports a shared commitment to ongoing training and development for all team members to help ensure their position and career growth.  Updates and delivers all technical and soft-skills training programs to team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Conducts participant testing to ensure learning outcomes were achieved. Gathers participants’ feedback and evaluates the effectiveness of training format and content.
  • Maintains our Learning Management System (BVS Online Training) and works with our management team to ensure regulatory and other required training programs are up-to-date and completed as required/assigned.
  • Works closely with the Marketing team to assist in informing/promoting new products or advertising campaigns to team members. Develops training as necessary to support new products, services and promotional campaigns.
  • Maintains an ongoing awareness of changes to procedures, policies and other factors affecting internal training programs and courses and makes changes as necessary.
  • Attends meetings as required.

Experience/Education

  • Equivalent to a college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in conducting training classes within a credit union or banking environment
  • Experience in development of staff level technical and non-technical training programs
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating training sessions
  • Experience with adult learning principals
  • Proactive communicator, problem solver and goal oriented
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and handle various projects and responsibilities
  • Must have solid oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to operate with minimum supervision

Preferred Experience/Education

  • Experience managing a Learning Management System
