Consumer Loan Supervisor

Foothill Credit Union is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic Consumer Loan Supervisor to provide leadership and direction to our Consumer Loan team.  This position is responsible for supervising the Consumer Lending Departments day-to-day operations to ensure that member service is being delivered at the highest possible level, and that team performance and production goals are being attained. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reviews consumer loan applications, credit reports and other documentation to determine credit worthiness of applicant
  • Approves and denies loan requests based on established guidelines
  • Develops, communicates and assists in achieving established team and individual goals
  • Provides consistent and regular performance coaching, motivation and training to the Consumer Loan team
  • Responsible for planning, directing and organizing the activities of the Consumer Loan team
  • Responsible for educating team on credit union developments, product changes and/or updates and sales goals.  
  • Effectively develop team members for future career-advancement opportunities 
  • Monitor workflow, call queues and sales techniques

  • College degree or equivalent combined education and experience
  • Minimum four years loan officer experience analyzing and approving loan applications
  • Credit union or banking experience a plus
  • Complete understanding of the banking regulations and statutes (Reg B, Reg Z, ECOA, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Bank Secrecy Act, The Right to Financial Privacy)
  • Aptitude for detail a must
  • Ability to apply strong critical thinking and problem solving skills

This position requires National Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) registration under the SAFE Act of 2008. Foothill Credit Union has an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with good working knowledge and at least 1 year of hands-on experience designing, developing, maintaining and supporting software applications. Coding experience with SQL, HTML, .Net, is required and basic graphic editing skills preferred.  

Knowledge of the Symitar programming environment with PowerOn, SymForm, SymConnect/SymXchange is a plus. In addition, you will have an opportunity to gain experience in all areas of Information Systems and assist with organizational projects as needed. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, design, test and implement applications for users or departments
  • Work with end users to understand specifications for programming requests and department projects
  • Write programming code in our core system to generate reports, create or modify user screens or forms, and update the core system database
  • Develop application software using recommended programming language such as but not limited to .NET, SQL, JavaScript, JQuery, HTML, CSS, Adobe Acrobat, Symform, Symform PDF, VBA and scripts
  • Test and verify application software to assure accuracy, integrity, interoperability and completeness to achieve desired results
  • Analyze, create, and maintain updates to Data Warehouse system, such as creating complex reports and integration of different systems, as well as other desktop or web-based systems as needed.   • Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems degree with emphasis in web design and programming, application software development and programming of business applications or related work experience in a financial computer programming environment is a plus
  • At least one year of programming work experience in a Microsoft .Net / SQL environment

  • Knowledge of Windows server OS

Staff Accountant (Part-time)

Foothill has an opening for an experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated part-time Staff Accountant to join our team. The successful candidate is responsible for analyzing and reconciling detailed general ledger accounts as assigned. Researches and resolves discrepancies and accounting errors. Completes related G/L entries, reports, summaries, and records and performs related clerical duties.

Qualified candidates must have outstanding customer service skills, communication skills and the ability to multitask in a busy and dynamic work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post Daily ATM settlements and balance all related general ledgers
  • Download and reconcile the daily check register account
  • Post and reconcile the money order sales
  • Post and reconcile the MasterCard settlement and ATM settlement accounts
  • Balance daily Teller Totals and file daily work
  • Verify daily incoming and outgoing wires on Catalyst Corporate Credit Union’s TranZact and Federal Reserve Bank wiring system
  • Process Member Payroll requests
  • Prepare and submit documentation for subpoenas. Report balances of the pledges to the Department of Business Oversight (DBO) and completes research on members for Social Security Administration
  • Maintain the incoming and outgoing wire log

  • College Degree or equivalent combined education and experience

Electronic Services Director

Foothill Credit Union is looking for a goal oriented and team focused individual to oversee our electronic/remote services area. The Electronic Services Director is responsible for preparing work schedules, controlling workflows and providing technical guidance and operational assistance to the department staff.  Responsible for the development and implementation of new electronic products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the daily operations and monitoring of a wide variety of activities such as ATM balancing and adjustments, the debit and credit card programs, the proprietary ATMs, bill payment program, item processing, ACH processing, and  managing the online and mobile banking channels
  • Trains, motivates, disciplines conducts performance coaching, and develops subordinates.  
  • Assigns team members to ensure optimum effectiveness and monitors performance.  
  • Responsible for team member motivation, coaching, counseling, discipline and changes in status of team supervised
  • Monitors data security and integrity procedures.  Maintains reporting systems on a timely basis that monitor all key aspects of the Electronic Services department
  • Recommends methods and practices to minimize costs, ensure optimum output and maintain quality
  • Recommends, documents, and implements new and revised operating procedures 


  • At least two (2) years of college or equivalent combined education and experience.  
  • Five (5) years operations experience in a financial institution, preferably with at least 3 years of that being in a manager position
  • Bi-lingual Spanish useful
  • Specialized training in ATM and credit card operations desired 
  • PC experience necessary, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Internet
