The impact has been unprecedented. We're here to help you.

Stay informed and rely on us

COVID-19's financial impact has been staggering, to say nothing of its social impact. If you're experiencing any hardship related to the pandemic, know that we're here to assist during these tough times.

Golden State Stimulus II

A new round of stimulus funds is heading to California residents beginning early September according to the California Franchise Tax Board. Nearly two-thirds of Californians will be eligible for a stimulus check of $500 to $1,100.

Similar to the federal stimulus payments, the money will be sent either by direct deposit to bank accounts used for annual tax refunds or by paper checks. Payments will start going out early September and continue in batches every two weeks.

To qualify, Californians must:

  • File 2020 taxes by Oct. 15, 2021;
  • Have adjusted gross income of $0 to $75,000 for the 2020 tax year;
  • Be a state resident for more than half of the 2020 tax year;
  • Be a state resident the date payment is issued;
  • Cannot be claimed as a dependent by another taxpayer;
  • A dependent is a qualifying child or qualifying relative.
For more information and to get an estimate on your California stimulus payment, go to ftb.ca.gov.

Friendly Reminder: Foothill does not have control over the Golden State Stimulus II payments. Some Californians will receive their payment via direct deposit or via mailed check. The best way to check the status of your payment is by going to FTB's website.

Beware of Scams

Needless to say, watch out for scams. Don’t give out your personal or bank account information to anyone, and don’t click on links from email senders you don’t recognize. Go directly to Franchise Tax Board's website to get updates, and watch your mailbox for official correspondence.

Foothill will never ask for your personal information over texts or emails or send you links that ask for such.

Also, remember that Foothill will never ask for your personal information over the phone, unless you are expecting a return call from a Foothill representative. For unsolicited calls, ask for the name of the company and phone number, then check a valid source to verify that number. You can always call back once you’ve verified the legitimacy of the call.
